Holocaust 'Inheritance Payment' E-Mail A Scam

RULE
Tuesday, July 08, 2008

An e-mail message with the subject line "Holocaust Inheritance Payment" and purporting to have been sent by the "Holocaust Claims Processing Office, New York State Banking Department" and other organizations has been received by a number of Jewish individuals.  While the names of the organizations and people mentioned in the e-mail are real, the addresses used for responding are not the correct e-mails for those institutions or individuals.

This message is a scam using Holocaust reparations as a pretext for soliciting personal information.  Anyone receiving this e-mail should not respond to it in any manner.
