We are writing to express our appreciation for your strong statement in celebration of Israel’s sixty-second birthday.  Your affirmation of the  “…United States’ enduring commitment to Israel’s security,” has always been the foundation of your approach to U.S.-Israel relations. 

More significantly, your clear declaration that “Israel remains our important partner and key strategic ally in the Middle East” was a particularly important message for the international community, Israel and her supporters here in the United States to hear from you at this time.
