4 - The Palestinian Position
The basic Palestinian position is that all Israeli settlements should be dismantled.
If, however, some are to remain, they must fall under the sovereignty of the Palestinian
Authority.
Palestinians are utterly opposed to settlement expansion and the creation of new
settlements in the interim period, claiming it violates the very spirit of the Oslo
process by unilaterally changing facts on the ground prior to mutual negotiations on the
issue, as specified by the Oslo Accords.
