ADL Assured That AIG Provides Insurance To Travelers To Israel
New York, NY, August 1, 2007 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today welcomed the assurance it received from American International Group, Inc. (AIG), the leading international insurance organization, that it provides coverage for travelers bound for Israel. AIG wrote to ADL after the League questioned media reports charging AIG with denying coverage to applicants planning to travel to Israel.
"Our current policy is very clear: we provide coverage for those who travel to Israel," AIG wrote to Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, in response to the League's inquiry. The insurance giant said, "AIG provides life insurance to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who travel to Israel. We also offer accident & health and travel insurance."
"We welcome the assurance from AIG that their policy is to provide coverage to Israel-bound travelers, putting to rest reports to the contrary," said Mr. Foxman. "Knowing of AIG's strong presence in Israel we found the reports to be questionable and so sought clarification."
The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
