ADL Applauds Arizona Supreme Court Decision On School Vouchers
Phoenix, AZ, March 25, 2009…The Anti-Defamation League today welcomed the unanimous decision by the Arizona Supreme Court to rescind two school voucher programs on the grounds that they were unconstitutional.
Bill Straus, Arizona ADL regional director, and Miriam Weisman, Chairman of the Arizona Regional board of directors stated:
We are extremely pleased that the Supreme Court saw this as an effort to circumvent the constitutionally-mandated separation of church and state. The fact that the decision was unanimous will hopefully serve as a cautionary note to others who would like to skirt the intentions of those who drafted our state's constitution.
The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
