Urge Your Senators to Tighten Sanctions against Iran ADL has long called for concerted U.S. and international action to halt Tehran’s nuclear weapons quest. Congress has been vital in equipping the Administration with diplomatic, economic, and legal tools to prevent the world’s leading state sponsor of terror from acquiring a nuclear weapons capability. On July 31st, the House of Representative passed by an overwhelming 400-20 vote a bipartisan bill (H.R. 850) that will strengthen enforcement of current sanctions and increase sanctions on Iran’s human rights violations. Now the Senate must act. New sanctions must be biting enough to dissuade the regime in Tehran from pursuing a nuclear weapons program and continuing to violate the human rights of the Iranian people. TAKE ACTION NOW: Urge your Senators to further tighten sanctions against Iran.
Urge House Members to Support Immigration Reform and Reject Enforcement-Only Bills The Senate has passed sound bipartisan reform legislation. Now the House must act to pass immigration reform that combines border enforcement with a realistic path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. Tell your Representative that sound policy to reduce illegal immigration must include a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and a realistic avenue for future immigration. Comprehensive reform with a path to citizenship would do more than serve America’s security and economic needs. It would honor our history as a nation of immigrants and embrace our future as an America that cherishes the diversity of its people.
Urge Your Senators to Support Landmark Disabilities Rights Treaty People with disabilities are among the world’s most marginalized groups. The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) affirms fundamental protections for people with disabilities around the world and increases access for Americans with disabilities who live, work or travel abroad. The Senate fell just five votes short of the 60 votes needed to ratify CRPD last year. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen again.

Ask your Representative to oppose cuts to foreign affairs funding that is critical to America’s ability to be a leader in the fight against terror and to promote democracy worldwide.
