A "letter" purportedly written by Jewish director Steven Spielberg, takes actor Mel Gibson to task for his anti-Semitic remarks. The letter is a fabrication and a forgery.
The letter, which opens with the sentence, "I am one Jew who doesn't accept your apology today," has been widely circulated via e-mail and the Internet since Gibson's August 2006 arrest for driving under the influence.
ADL has verified that the letter was not written by Mr. Spielberg.
