California White Supremacist Charged with Murder

A white supremacist and his wife from Carmichael, California, are suspected of murdering a 66-year-old man who had been reported missing.

Sacramento County sheriff's detectives arrested Charles Francis Gaskin, 44, and his wife Sandra Sheaves, 40, on July 11, 2009.

The body of the victim was discovered earlier that evening in El Dorado County.  The man was first reported missing the day before.

On July 10, after receiving information that a crime may have taken place, detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspects' home.  The warrant was executed on July 11, precipitating the arrests.

It is believed that Gaskin first met the victim in prison.  According to authorities, the victim had been staying at the suspects' home for several months, and that is where the alleged murder occurred.

Gaskin has the white supremacist numeric code "23" prominently tattooed on the front of his neck, representing the letter "W," or white power.  This is a symbol that originated in the California prison system and is primarily seen in that state.

Neighbors reported Gaskin often discussing his support of Hitler and his hatred of Jews.
