Israelis celebrated the 60th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel with countrywide celebrations. In Jerusalem, dignitaries from around the world joined with Israeli leaders at Mt. Herzl to ring in the national holiday and to celebrate Israel’s independence.
On Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, the Anti-Defamation League celebrates the creation of a democratic homeland for the Jewish people in a land which Jews have inhabited for thousands of years.
