In order to grow into adults who can successfully live and work in an increasingly global community, today’s youth require school environments that promote respect, inclusiveness and civility. This work is at the heart of A CLASSROOM OF DIFFERENCE.
A CLASSROOM OF DIFFERENCE offers anti-bias training programs for pre-K through 12th grade school communities - educators, administrators, youth and families- which focus on the development of an inclusive culture and respectful school climate by addressing issues of bias and bullying. Our anti-bias programs and additional offerings are described below.

Anti-bias professional development programs provide educators and administrators with the skills and knowledge to build safe, respectful learning environments for all students. Interdisciplinary, standards-based curricular materials help to integrate anti-bias education into existing curriculum throughout the school year. Workshops also provide effective strategies to address bias, name-calling and bullying, face-to-face and online.

Bullying and Cyberbullying workshops
The Miller Early Childhood Initiative provides anti-bias training and resources assist educators, caregivers, and family members of children ages 3–5 in creating bias-free environments. Programs provide supporting resources to help promote understanding and respect among young children in their classrooms and at home.
The Institute’s Peer Education programs prepare middle and high school students to work with their peers to confront bias and create inclusive environments in their schools and communities. Workshops also help students explore the harms of name-calling and bullying and develop skills to be allies to others.

Across the country, The A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE®Institute develops and implements special events and programs throughout the year - from essay and art contests to local youth leadership events -all designed to develop inclusive and respectful school environments.
