ADL Curriculum Connections: A Time for Sight: The Debate Over Color Blindness and Race Consciousness in School Integration Policy
In light of the June 2007 U.S. Supreme Court decision that struck down two voluntary integration plans in Seattle and Louisville, this ADL curriculum lesson provides educators with the opportunity to engage their students in examining the Court’s 2007 decision and its impact on school integration within the broader context of the Brown v. Board of Education decision and the 50th anniversary of the desegregation of Central High School in Little Rock, AK.

ADLCurriculum Connections: Looking Back…Reaching Forward: Exploring the Promise of Brown v. Board of Education in Contemporary Times
To help students understand the significance of Little Rock as well as other events related to desegregation, educators can use this six-lesson curriculum unit for high school students to investigate the problem of segregation for themselves.  This unit includes an analysis of the Little Rock Crisis in Lesson 3: With All Deliberate Speed, and the most updated statistics available from the Civil Rights Project on the resurgence of racial isolation in schools in Lesson 4: Fifty Years Later.
