New Direction for the National Alliance

Although the National Alliance has a long history of allying itself with other extremist groups, its recent ties to more sophisticated and well-established operations both at home and abroad raise new concerns. Through the NA's connection to David Duke, the group may be looking to gain the experience and skills needed to break into more mainstream politics. At a 1997 NA event in Cleveland, Duke encouraged attendees to become more active in the Republican Party and local politics.
