During the campaign leading up to the March 2013 presidential elections, there was a noticeable increase in anti-Semitic graffiti and articles attacking Jews in Venezuela, much of it related to opposition candidate, Henrique Capriles, a devout Catholic with Jewish ancestry. Following the election of Chavez-protégé Nicholas Maduro, anti-Semitism continues being promoted in government owned and aligned media.
ADL publishes a number of reports and resources for Spanish and Portuguese speaking communities.
ADL works with Latin American Jewish communities on combatting anti-Semitism.
