Training for New Jersey Law Enforcement

Posted: August 27, 2008

Law enforcement officers from across New Jersey heard from Anti-Defamation League experts on left and right-wing extremism at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey.

Approximately 125 officers, representing 57 local, state, federal and campus law enforcement agencies, including 15 universities, attended the ADL training co-sponsored by the Brookdale Community College Police Department.

The experts provided information on hate crimes and extremism in New Jersey including a legal overview; a guided tour of hate symbols and their use; homegrown Jihad: radicalization activity and case studies; extremist and terrorist use of technology and the internet; and the rise of left-wing and single issue groups, including crimes committed by extreme animal rights and environmental groups.
