In July 2009, the Anti-Defamation League conducted a full-day training program on extremism hosted by the United States Park Police in Washington, D.C.
This is the third consecutive year that ADL has been invited to present this training, which focused on hate crimes and hate crime legislation; right-wing extremism, including symbols, groups, and trends; left-wing and single issue extremism, including eco-terrorism; and extremist use of the Internet.
Approximately 75 federal, state, and local law enforcement officers from agencies in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, including the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Command, Criminal Intelligence Division Threat Assessment Desk, and the Department of the Treasury, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network attended the conference.
