Shabazz Drums Up Support for Million Man March Anniversary

Posted: August 10, 2005

Malik Zulu Shabazz, the anti-Semitic and racist National Chairman of the New Black Panther Party, has traveled around the county in an effort to drum up support for Louis Farrakhan's October 16 march in Washington, D.C., commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 1995 Million Man March.

Since being appointed National Co-Convener of the march by Farrakhan in February, Shabazz has organized and spoken at numerous local outreach events across the country.  He has used these opportunities to promote the New Black Panthers, which is perhaps the largest organized anti-Semitic and racist black militant group in America, and to foster a closer relationship with black activist organizations.

Shabazz's latest organizing effort is a National Town Hall Meeting in support of the October march.  The meeting, scheduled to take place at Union Temple Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., on August 27, will include representatives from the Nation of Islam, black youth and other black leadership and clergy, according to Shabazz.

Shabazz has spoken at rallies in support of the march in more than a dozen states, including New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Virginia, Alabama, Maryland, Texas and California.

In a recent statement, which was distributed by the Truth Establishment Institute, an anti-Semitic propaganda Web site run by an NOI member, Shabazz said he and the New Black Panthers are organizing a "MMM Liberation Street Team" to distribute flyers, posters and march registration forms. Shabazz also indicated that he will be organizing another Million Youth March in New York on September 3 (the last Million Youth March was held in September 2003).
