Texas White Supremacist Sentenced for Stabbing While on Parole for Murder

Posted: October 28, 2009

A federal judge in Brazos County has sentenced a member of the racist prison gang Aryan Brotherhood of Texas to prison for stabbing a man in January 2008.

On October 14, 2009, the judge sentenced Wesley Hinds, 42, of College Station, to 40 years in prison.

A jury convicted Hinds of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon earlier that morning, but, once he was taken to jail, authorities discovered that he was actually out on parole from a previous murder conviction.

In September 1986, Hinds was convicted of murdering an African-American man in Bell County.  Hinds stabbed the victim so forcefully that he severed the man's neck and spinal chord.  A federal judge sentenced Hinds to 45 years in prison for the murder but he was released on parole in 2003, after serving only 17 years.

The judge in the current assault case ordered Hinds' sentences stacked, so Hinds will not begin serving the 40 year term until he completes the remaining 28 years of his murder sentence.
