Anti-Defamation League experts conducted numerous law enforcement trainings in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest in recent months. 

In California, an ADL expert participated in the Alameda County Sheriff's Department's Annual "Operation Urban Shield Tactical Operations Support Training Seminar," discussing extremist ideologies prevalent in the United States, specifically in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.  The presentation focused on the range of activities and tactics used by extremist groups, including neo-Nazis, racist skinheads, traditional white supremacist groups, and racist prison gangs, including their activities, motivations, and identifying symbols. 

Presentations on right-wing domestic extremism were also held in Longview, Washington; Idaho Falls, Idaho (co-sponsored by the Idaho National Laboratory, the Bonneville Country Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Attorney's Office in Boise); and at the California Probations Parole and Corrections Association Annual Conference in Berkeley, California. 

Attendees represented law enforcement agencies from across the Pacific Northwest including the Blackfoot, Idaho, Police Department; the Bonneville County, Idaho, Sheriff's Office; the Caribou County, Idaho, Sheriff's Office; the Department of Energy, the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the Idaho Department of Justice, the Idaho Falls Police Department, Idaho Fish and Game, the Idaho National Laboratory, the Idaho State Police, the Jefferson County, Idaho, Sheriff's Office; the Rexburg, Idaho, Police Department; the St. Anthony, Idaho, Police Department; the Longview, Washington, Police Department; and the Washington State Department of Corrections.   Topics included white supremacist ideology, local and national hate group activity, current trends in the white power subculture, and tattoos and symbols most commonly used by white supremacists.
