Los Angeles, CA, March 13, 2003… The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) applauds the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for their efforts in apprehending Jonathan Francis Williams a.k.a. David Steigman, Marcos Andres Zurinaga, and Ali Khazrai, the suspects in an alleged hate crime that occurred in the Beverlywood area last April.

The suspects are accused of assaulting two Jewish teenagers in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Amanda Susskind, Regional Director of the ADL stated:

“The persistence of our local law enforcement agencies in solving this crime sends a message to our community that they take these matters seriously and that those suspected of committing hate crimes will be pursued until caught.”

Hate crimes tear at the very fabric of our society. It is important and commendable for our law enforcement agencies to demonstrate their commitment to diversity and safety of all citizens by their steadfast pursuit of these crimes.
