Two fugitive white supremacists facing hate crime charges in Wisconsin were arrested in Clearwater, Florida, on February 12, 2004.
Kasey Arlene Bieri, 23, and her boyfriend Mark Allen Davis, 27, were arrested outside the Pink Flamingo Hotel after being pulled over earlier by Clearwater police. During the traffic stop, Davis gave an officer fake names. Florida officials contacted the Waukesha Police Department, who identified the suspects as being wanted in Wisconsin.
The couple fled Wisconsin after they and two others were charged with what authorities described as a racially motivated beating of a Hispanic man outside a Waukesha bar on October 5, 2003.
Davis, who was granted work-release privileges after his arrest, did not return to the jail in November 2003 and was subsequently charged with felony escape. Bieri, who was released after posting bail, was charged with bail jumping.
Prosecutors in Waukesha County have begun the extradition process, which could take over three months. The suspects will remain in custody until extradited.
