ADL Letter to AT&T Wireless

August 7, 2002

Senior Vice President, Marketing & Advertising

Via Fax: 908-696-4434

Dear Mr. Savage:

After receiving several complaints from our friends in the Turkish community, we want to bring to your attention an advertisement for AT&T Wireless that features prominently a sign with a lost dog named "Turk" on it.

We understand why the Turkish community would find this advertisement offensive. We suggest changing the name of the dog for future editions, and consider pulling the remaining run of this particular advertisement.

Thank you for understanding.

  Sincerely,

Abraham H. Foxman
