February 16, 2005     The Honorable Ken Livingstone Mayor of London Greater London Authority City Hall The Queen's Walk London SE1 2AA   Dear Mayor Livingstone:   Your recent remarks comparing a Jewish journalist to a "German war criminal" and "concentration camp guard" were both inappropriate and offensive.   The implication of your remarks, recalling the pain and suffering of Jews at the hands of an anti-Semitic regime, was particularly troubling in the context of the sharp rise in anti-Semitic incidents in the United Kingdom.   We urge you to repudiate your comments and utilize public platform to raise awareness of the dangers of intolerance and anti-Semitism.   Sincerely,    Abraham H.
