Dear Mr. Secretary General:
We are troubled by reports that the State of Israel was not identified on maps displayed at the United Nations meeting to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people on November 29.
As you know, we have expressed our concerns on many occasions that such meetings, which have served as a forum for anti-Israel propaganda instead of promoting peace between the two sides, continue to be held under U.N. auspices. That a Member State of the U.N. is excluded from maps at these events is even more disturbing and further exacerbated by your presence at the meeting.
We would greatly appreciate your clarification of this matter and respectfully ask for your assurance that the State of Israel will be properly acknowledged on all maps and other informational materials used by the U.N. in its meetings and publications.
Sincerely,
Abraham H. Foxman National Director
