Letters to the Editor
International Herald Tribune

     October 5, 2004

To the Editor:

Re:  "Why not two peoples, one state?" (Oct. 5) Michael Tarazi's proposal is the latest of many efforts by Palestinian officials to subvert the existence of Israel in the garb of victimhood.

For the eleven years of its existence, the Palestinian Authority and its leadership has taught its children hatred of Jews and Israel, it has rejected any historic or present Jewish connection to the land of Israel, and has promoted terrorism against Jews.  Tarazi now calls for one state of Jews and Palestinians where both peoples are supposed to live in harmony.

If harmony is truly the goal of Tarazi and the Palestinian Authority he advises, the Palestinians should stop the hatred and terror and finally recognize the State of Israel's right to exist.

  Sincerely,

Abraham H. Foxman
National Director
