ADL Letter to Los Angeles Times

Anti-Defamation League

Letters to the Editor
Los Angeles Times

     November 21, 2008

To the Editor:

While your editorial rightly advocates for a cessation of violence in Gaza, it unjustly and inaccurately places full responsibility on the Israeli government.  Hamas, the terrorist organization that violently took over control of Gaza, is responsible for the plight of those they claim to govern ("Israel's hold on Gaza," Nov 21).  Hamas holds the Palestinian people of Gaza hostage to an ideology whose principal tenet is the destruction of Israel.

As Israeli civilians are once again being terrorized by indiscriminate rocket and mortar fire, you demand that Israel do all it can to assist the terrorists who are firing these rockets.  What other country would be asked to do this?

  Sincerely,

The Anti-Defamation League
