ADL and the Nation’s Premier Expert on Bullying Prevention Join Forces in the Fight Against Hate

New York, NY, May 2, 2014 … In an effort to expand access to cutting edge resources equipping teachers and parents to address bullying, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has established a new partnership with Rosalind Wiseman, one of the nation’s premier experts on bullying prevention.

Rosalind’s Classroom Conversations, which includes in depth feature essays on bullying, current events and the social and emotional development of children, is available on the League’s website at no charge. In Ms. Wiseman’s first installment titled “Every Conflict Isn’t Bullying,” she delves into how the term “bullying” is often overused and highlights the perils of not distinguishing between bullying and conflict.  ADL will distribute the best-selling author’s specially crafted monthly advice columns – ensuring that teachers and parents are sufficiently equipped to respond to the latest trends in bullying and cyberbullying.

“We are thrilled to partner with such an iconic figure in this arena,” said David Waren, ADL Director of Education.   “Teachers and parents face an enormous emotional burden when trying to tackle bullying, and by collaborating with Rosalind on such issues will serve as an invaluable and timely resource.”

Rosalind Wiseman is a teacher, thought leader, author, and media spokesperson on bullying prevention, ethical leadership, the use of social media, and media literacy. She is the author of Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and the New Realities of Girl World, the groundbreaking, best-selling book that was the basis for the movie Mean Girls. Her latest books, Masterminds & Wingmen: Helping Our Boys Cope with Schoolyard Power, Locker-Room Tests, Girlfriends, and the New Rules of Boy World were published in September 2013.  She also writes the monthly “Ask Rosalind” column in Family Circle magazine, and is a regular contributor to several websites and blogs.

“It’s an honor to partner with the ADL to provide resources to their dedicated and wonderful educators,” said Rosalind Wiseman. “It's my hope that together we can develop ways to bring the core mission of the ADL to our young people that reflects the important issues they are facing today.”

ADL is the leading provider of anti-bias and anti-bullying programs reaching millions across the country every year.

The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
