About Us

The Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL’s) Southwest Regional Office covers Texas from El Paso on the west, to Beaumont on the east, and all points south. Larger cities in our region include Austin, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Houston, and San Antonio. The Southwest Regional office is based in Houston, with a satellite office in Austin.

The Southwest Regional office handles an average of 1000 complaints a year, ranging from anti-Semitic vandalism, to violations of the separation of church and state, to racism and other forms of discrimination. The region is dedicated, as is the ADL nationally and internationally, to stopping the defamation of the Jewish people and to securing justice for all. The regional office, its staff members and lay leaders combat hatred by investigating and exposing extremism, protecting civil rights and the safety of the Jewish community, and educating children and adults in how to fight prejudice and cultivate diversity through our No Place for Hate® program, A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® Institute, CONFRONTING ANTI-SEMITISM project, and Coalition for Mutual Respect, among other programs.

A board of about 160 lay leaders helps to set regional policy and oversee regional operations. The office is led by a regional director.
