- Five members of the Aryan Republican Army
were indicted in Philadelphia on charges of conspiracy to rob seven banks in the Midwest
and using the proceeds to buy weapons and fund recruiting efforts. Ringleader Peter
Langan, 38, was found guilty in Federal court in Columbus, OH, on five counts of bank

- A Federal judge ordered the PLO to prepare for trial in the 1985 slaying of American
Jew Leon Klinghoffer aboard the Achille Lauro after the apparent collapse of a settlement

- Utilizing a new law that allows Americans to file suit in U.S. courts against foreign
governments for damages from terrorism, the family of terror victim Alisa Flatow, killed
in a bus bombing in the Gaza Strip in April 1995, has filed suit against Iran for

- Federal officials arrested nine men in Virginia who they say were part of a network
that funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars to Middle East terrorist front

- Florida police charged Harry Shapiro, 31, with placing a destructive device at and
making a bomb threat to a synagogue in Jacksonville, Florida. Shapiro later pleaded

- Militia leader F. Joe Holland, who sent threatening letters to government officials,
