'Think. Plan. Act.' Helps College Students Deal with Anti-Semitic and Anti-Israel Incidents on Campus

2017 Impact Report

Students, administrators and parents are dealing with heightened tensions surrounding anti-Israel rhetoric and an increase in anti-Semitic incidents on America’s college and university campuses. ADL is here to help them with the best tools to respond.

Think. Plan. Act. is a comprehensive, multi-platform resource introduced by ADL in time for the start of the 2017 academic year that prepares students for encounters with anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment on campus.  Through scenarios, videos and how-tos, it identifies examples and practical, appropriate responses to common anti-Semitic and anti-Israel incidents students face, including swastikas and other forms of anti-Semitic vandalism, mock anti-Israel demolition notices and others.  It provides definitions of “anti-Semitism”, “anti-Zionism” and “anti-Israel,” explains free speech rights as well as tips on how to work with college administrators.  The resource includes video testimonials from students who have confronted anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment on their campuses, and how they responded.

Available both online and in hard copy, Think. Plan. Act. empowers students to effectively confront these realities of modern campus life and lets them know that they are not alone, and that fellow students, campus professionals and ADL are here to help.

“I really had never encountered anti-Semitism…I felt ‘how can this be happening on my campus?’ I wanted to do something immediately but it was unclear to me where to begin.” - Student Testimonial from Think. Plan. Act. Share via Twitter Share via Facebook
