The October edition of Terrorism Update, ADL’s newsletter providing news and analysis on international terrorist organizations and their followers in the U.S., is now available.
The feature article provides background on U.S. residents linked to activity motivated by Islamic extremism in 2016. As of the end of September, there have been 32 such individuals, the vast majority of whom supported ISIS.
Follow up articles focus on instances when ISIS claims responsibility for attacks in the U.S. and on the weapons involved in domestic Islamic extremist plots
This edition also includes information on recent English-language propaganda from both ISIS and Al Qaeda, a new social media hashtag campaign by ISIS supporters, the link between terrorism and anti-Semitism and an overview of Orlando shooter Omar Mateen’s many paths to violence.
