ADL’s Terrorism Update Looks At Homegrown Terror & Online Recruitment

  • April 4, 2014

The April edition of Terrorism Update, ADL’s newsletter providing news and analysis on international terrorist organizations and their followers in the U.S., is now available.

The feature article explores how online terrorist propaganda is radicalizing a new generation of homegrown Islamic extremists – tragically underscored by last year’s Boston Marathon bombing – and provides an look back at related incidents and arrests in 2013.

The newsletter includes a profile on the Caucasus Emirates, a separatist Islamic extremist group in the Russian Federation that came into the spotlight with its threats against the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

This edition also includes information on a recent terror-related arrest in California, a new Afghani English-language terrorist magazine, efforts by Hezbollah to attract youth and exploit technology, the continued concern over Americans fighting in Syria and more.
