Letter to Canadian Minister Kenney on Anti-Semitism Motion

His Excellency Jason Kenney
Minister of National Defense and Multiculturalism
Government of Canada

Dear Minister Kenney,

We strongly commend the Canadian House of Commons for adopting the February 24th motion condemning the rise of anti-Semitism around the world.

As was noted in the motion, there has been an alarming increase in global anti-Semitism in the form of violent attacks on Jewish individuals, synagogues, cemeteries and other institutions. We welcome Parliament’s call on the Canadian government to continue the fight against anti-Semitism as both a domestic and international priority, through engaging civil society, communal groups, educators and other levels of government.

Canada has been a vital voice in the fight against the scourge anti-Semitism, and we hope other governmental bodies will emulate the Canadian Parliament as a model for adopting similar motions condemning the rise of anti-Semitism.

Sincerely,

Abraham H. Foxman
National Director

Cc: The Honorable Irwin Cotler, Member of Parliament
