ADL Extends Congratulations to Israeli PM Netanyahu on Newly Formed Government

New York, NY, May 7, 2015 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today extended congratulations to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the newly formed Israeli government. The new governing coalition can now begin to address the difficult challenges of ensuring the security and well-being of all Israelis, and uphold Israel’s founding principles as a Jewish and democratic state.

Barry Curtiss-Lusher, ADL National Chair, and Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement:

We congratulate Prime Minister Netanyahu and his new government. Israel’s democratic process is lively and unpredictable, as we saw in a turbulent campaign, a competitive election, and a strenuous coalition-building process.

While there has been much speculation about the policies and the approach of this new governing coalition, we expect this government to continue to work tirelessly to ensure the security and well-being of the State of Israel, uphold Israel’s founding principles as a Jewish and democratic nation, and seek to enhance relations with the international community, the Arab world, and address the challenge of finding solutions to the conflict with the Palestinians.

The Anti-Defamation League was founded in 1913 to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all. Today it is the world’s leading organization combating anti-Semitism, exposing hate groups, training law enforcement on hate crimes, developing anti-bias education programs for students, countering cyber-hate and relentlessly pursuing equal rights for all.
