ADL Welcomes a New Government in Israel

New York, NY, March 19, 2013 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today welcomed the formation of Israel’s new government, and applauded Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on forming a coalition broadly representing Israeli society.

“We welcome the formation of Israel’s new government, and applaud Prime Minister Netanyahu on bringing together a coalition representing a diverse landscape of Israeli society,” said Barry Curtiss-Lusher, ADL National Chair and Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director.

In a letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu, ADL expressed appreciation for the steadfast efforts that led to the formation of the coalition and conveyed confidence that the new government will be resolute in working on the challenging issues facing Israelis.

“We fully appreciate the extensive negotiations you have led with Israel’s political leadership over the past weeks, and believe that the new coalition is well positioned to prioritize the issues highlighted by the Israeli electorate in the January 22 election,” Mr. Curtiss-Lusher and Mr. Foxman wrote. “We wish you and your new government a hearty mazal tov and b’hatzlachah as you and the new government begin to address the challenges facing Israeli society and continue to work to ensure the security, stability and vitality of the State of Israel.”
