Protect Civil Rights

Since our founding, ADL has sought justice for marginalized members of society. We fight for equal treatment before the law through our civil rights work on behalf of targeted individuals and communities. We are plaintiffs in voting rights cases. We file or join amicus briefs in cases concerning religious freedom, immigrants and refugees, racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, gender equity and other civil rights issues. We join and convene coalitions to protect civil rights, and we advocate for strong hate crimes laws and online hate laws to support those who are targeted victims and hold perpetrators responsible.
