This database is a widely used resource – by law enforcement, by schools and by individuals – as an overview of the symbols most frequently used by a variety of white supremacist groups and movements, as well as some other types of hate groups.

Over the past two decades, Hate on DisplayTM Hate Symbols Database has regularly been updated with new symbols and images as they have come into common use by extremists.

We show these symbols as extremists actually use them: on signs and clothing, graffiti and jewelry, and even on their own bodies as tattoos and brands.

In this PDF, you’ll find an at-a-glance view of ADL’s Hate on Display database, with a summary and image for each symbol, as well as a link to the full version of each listing which has additional information and images.

Please submit the form below and ADL will email you a link to download the PDF.

Users of the Hate on Display database should be aware that this database, by its nature, contains racist and antisemitic imagery and language that some may find offensive. No one who encounters one of the symbols listed here should rush to judgment. The descriptions here point out significant non-hateful meanings and contexts but may not be able to relay every possible meaning of a symbol.
