Center on Extremism Internship

ADL’s Center on Extremism’s experts monitor, expose and disrupt extremist threats and activity online and on the ground. ADL provides critical resources, information and educational briefings and is a powerful force against hate.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • Conduct open-source research on a variety of extremist-related activity, individuals and groups
  • Assist the Center on Extremism in analysis and writing projects
  • Observe and participate in ADL law enforcement meetings and programs
  • Assist with preparing Powerpoint presentations and other materials as necessary
  • Assist with programmatic events including set-up, registration and greeting
  • Other relevant tasks

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum commitment of 30 hours a week is expected. This is an unpaid internship. Course credit or external stipend is required. This internship provides an excellent opportunities to learn about the work of ADL and gain an understanding of the non-profit world.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Good time management
  • Demonstrates independent work-style
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Gab
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite

EDUCATION:  

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s (junior or senior standing) or graduate degree in political science, international relations, history, sociology, or any other relevant discipline
  • GPA requirement 3.5 and above
