Clark University has a Hillel and is supported by the Central Mass Chabad.

What’s Happening on Campus?

In February 2024, "Free Palestine U Zionist!!!" was written on a white board outside of a Jewish student's dorm room.

In April 2024, a student at Clark University made a post on a university social media platform that read, "I hope Zionists' daughters get raped and I hope their sons get beaten up and shot. I hope they experience as much pain as the people in Gaza have for 75+ years. Zionists are subhuman vermin." That same month, Clark University students voted yes to a referendum that had multiple questions related to boycotts against Israel.

University Policies and Responsive Action

Clark University’s administration is participating in Hillel International’s Campus Climate Initiative (CCI). As part of the University’s efforts to assess prevalence of antisemitism on campus, two focus groups were held to gather information about the experiences of Jewish students on campus, and a campus satisfaction survey was administered with additional questions regarding Jewish student life in Fall 2025.

Furthermore, voluntary antisemitism training and education is made available for students, faculty, and staff on campus, and a new training on discrimination and harassment launched in early 2026.

The University has also expanded the space dedicated to Hillel and provides University Police whenever it is deemed necessary for campus events. In addition, in response to an increase in antisemitic events both locally and abroad, campus University Police attend regular meetings with other law enforcement to discuss incidents and response.
