All the symbols depicted in the hate symbols database must be evaluated in the context in which they appear. Few symbols represent just one idea or are used exclusively by one group. For example, 100% is often used as an amount or an expression and it is also used by some white supremacists as shorthand for "100% white." Similarly, other symbols in this database may be significant to people who are not extreme or racist. The descriptions here point out significant multiple meanings but may not be able to relay every possible meaning of a particular symbol.

Hate on Display / The Hated

Group Status: Legacy (the group is no longer active, but some symbols may remain as tattoos, graffiti, etc.)

The Hated is a racist skinhead group that was originally active in the early 2000s, primarily in New Jersey and Florida, then resurrected itself and became active again in the 2010s. Members use a variety of symbols for their group; one of the most common is a white fist inside a cogwheel, with the number 14 and the words The Hated on the outside. Also common is a pair of steel-toed boots with the name of the group over them, as are other graphic images with the words "Hated" or "The Hated" inserted into them.

Hated members may use the acronym LHDH, which stands for "Live Hated, Die Hated," as well as the numeric symbol 8668, which is an alphanumeric representation of "Hated Forever, Forever Hated."
