SCN, ADL, and Jewish Federation of Greater Naples Convene Security Briefing to Strengthen Community Preparedness

Regional and National Partners Align on Threat Awareness and Layered Security Preparedness

New York, NY, April 21, 2026, ... The Secure Community Network (SCN), the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) Center on Extremism (COE), the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples (JFGN), and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office recently convened a regional security briefing, bringing together community leaders, law enforcement, and security professionals to share updates and strengthen local preparedness efforts.

Around 100 community members participated in a high-level discussion on the evolving threat environment, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict with Iran and the recent targeted attack in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Presenters emphasized that these developments reinforce the importance of staying informed and maintaining a layered approach to security across Jewish institutions.

“Threat awareness, emergency preparation, and continued vigilance are essential to ensuring that our community remains safe and secure,” said Nammie Ichilov, President and CEO of JFGN. “Thanks to our strong partnerships with SCN, ADL, and particularly local law enforcement, our community has the tools, resources, and confidence to show up and fully engage in Jewish life.”

The ADL COE provided analysis on evolving extremist activity and emerging threat trends, offering context for the broader security landscape. COE noted that the Jewish community domestically and globally continues to face an unprecedented level of antisemitism and threats since the October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. Further, COE raised the alarm about rising youth radicalization in the state, which includes influence from white supremacist groups and nihilist violent extremist networks.

Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk relayed that his department has increased physical security and preventative measures at Jewish sites, including enhanced patrols and continued coordination with community partners.

“I welcomed the opportunity to share the high degree of vigilance, preparation, and commitment the Collier County Sheriff’s Office has to keeping our Jewish community safe,” said Sheriff Rambosk. “We place great value and confidence in our partnership with the Secure Community Network, and we stand strong in our commitment that we will do everything under our authority and our mission to protect our community. The evils of terrorism, antisemitism, and hate have no place in our community, our nation, or our hearts.”

John Murtagh, SCN Regional Security Advisor for Florida’s West Coast, outlined his efforts to strengthen institutional readiness across local Jewish communities by working directly with Naples-area institutions on law enforcement coordination, physical security walkthroughs, event security planning, and ongoing preparedness support.

ADL Florida also participated and reiterated the importance of its partnership with SCN, JFGN, and local law enforcement in equipping the Jewish community with the tools and resources necessary to combat antisemitism and extremism.

“The current threat environment demands constant coordination and shared responsibility,” said Michael Masters, SCN National Director & CEO. “In Florida and across North America, SCN is working in close partnership with Jewish communities, leveraging our national resources alongside law enforcement and trusted partners like the ADL so that Jewish life can continue to flourish with confidence.”

“The unprecedented threat environment facing the Jewish community requires constant coordination and cooperation with trusted partners,” said Oren Segal, ADL's Senior Vice President of Counter-Extremism and Intelligence. “By combining the ADL COE's expertise, intelligence, and analysis with SCN's on-the-ground safety recommendations, Federation’s deep connection with local Jewish communities, and the capabilities of local law enforcement, we're building a stronger, more resilient security posture for Jewish communities nationwide.”
