London, U.K., October 12, 2026 ... The J7 Task Force Against Antisemitism met UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband today in London to discuss issues of concern to Jewish communities worldwide.

The group expressed serious concern about the recent UK Government measures and rhetoric targeting Israel and the detrimental impact this decision had in their own countries and communities.

Representatives discussed the sharp rise in global antisemitism, the threat posed by the Iranian regime and its proxies, the growing proliferation of online hate, and the continued demonisation of Israel, including in rhetoric from many of those in elected office and public life, which all too often serves as a vehicle for antisemitic rhetoric, incitement and behaviour. In that regard, the J7 welcomed Ed Miliband’s expression of the ‘abhorrence’ of the motion against Zionism at the recent Green Party conference and his affirmation of the importance of the IHRA definition of Antisemitism.

In the meeting, the J7 proposed a new international intergovernmental ministerial task force on antisemitism, comprising the countries represented in the J7 and taking on the key themes discussed. We were pleased that the Foreign Secretary agreed to host an inaugural meeting of J7 countries’ ministers to start this process.

The J7 looks forward to continuing its engagement with the United Kingdom and each of our governments to ensure that antisemitism is confronted wherever it emerges and that Jewish communities can live openly, safely and securely around the world.

Attending the meeting on behalf of the J7 were:

Board of Deputies of British Jews; Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, Canada; Central Council of Jews in Germany; Anti-Defamation League, USA; Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, USA; CRIF, France; Delegación de Asociaciones Israelitas Argentinas, Argentina; and Executive Council of Australian Jewry.

The J7, the Large Communities’ Task Force Against Antisemitism. was formed in response to increasing rates of antisemitism around the world and comprises major Jewish organizations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Argentina and Australia. In addition to top-level consultations, the J7 leads working groups comprised of subject matter experts from each community to develop strategies and action plans within areas such as policy and advocacy, tech policy, security, extremism and education against antisemitism.
