Your opinion can shape the work of state legislators and drive meaningful change. ADL's bipartisan advocacy efforts seek to engage elected officials at every level, working toward our mission: "to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all." When we take action together, we are stronger.

Urge Lawmakers to Unmask Hate

A disturbing wave of antisemitic and harassing behavior has surged through our communities and college campuses, with a troubling pattern: many perpetrators hide behind masks and deliberately place targeted individuals in fear for their physical safety. Using Ku Klux Klan-style tactics, these masked agitators have been emboldened to cross lines they might otherwise avoid, leaving victims feeling powerless, vulnerable and afraid for their safety. It's crucial that we revitalize and strengthen state masked intimidation laws to counter this alarming trend and send a clear message that such behavior won't be tolerated.

Stop Extremists from Sharing Our Personal Information Online

Extremists will sometimes post the personal information of someone they want to target online so trolls can harass them. This act, known as doxing, can result in death threats, hate mail and feeling unsafe in the home or workplace. ADL has tracked numerous instances of this harassment, targeting Jewish people and other minority groups. Doxing can destroy people's lives. Some victims have had to move, close their businesses or place their children in new schools.

Urge Your Governor to Fight Antisemitism

Everyone deserves to live without fear of discrimination or hostility. Your governor can bring schools, businesses and government agencies together to create a statewide strategy to stop the rise of antisemitism. This unified strategy aims to make Jews across your state feel welcome and accepted at school, work and in their communities. This strategy should focus on raising awareness, improving security, fighting discrimination and fostering inter-community connections to combat hate.

Protect Houses of Worship from Hate

As hate crime rises, many religious institutions face growing threats like bomb scares, harassment and cyber-attacks. To protect their members, churches, synagogues, mosques and religious schools must now spend their limited funds on security. This includes cameras, guards and emergency preparedness training. The proposed Nonprofit Security Grant Program for your state aims to help. It would provide resources for nonprofits to better protect themselves.
