History shows that when America retreats from the issues of the world there are dire consequences for all

There’s no doubt that the course of world history in the 20th century was dramatically influenced – both for good and ill – by the role played and leadership exerted by the United States. Whenever America was in retreat from the world it was inevitably bad for the world, bad for America and bad for the Jewish people. Whenever America was asserting its leadership in the world, whatever its mistakes and mishaps, overall, it was good for the world, good for America and good for the Jewish people.
This was most apparent between the two world wars, when American isolationism, beginning with the Senate vote not to join the League of Nations, helped to create a vacuum that was filled by Adolf Hitler. While many factors played into the outbreak of World War II, which was inevitable considering Hitler’s aim to dominate Europe and beyond, American isolationism helped undermine the ability of the democracies to stand up to Hitler.
