Al-Awda: The Palestine Right to Return Coalition

Al-Awda (also spelled “Al Awda”), The Palestine Right to Return Coalition (PRRC), is an extreme anti-Zionist organization with a long history of espousing antisemitic, anti-Zionist, and pro-terror rhetoric. On both social media and at in-person events, the group, as well as its chapters and leaders, has expressed support for the 10/7 attack on Israel, labeled Israelis "a cult of torturers," praised 10/7 architect Yahya Sinwar as a "hero" and "legend," held a vigil to mourn the late Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and called to “dismantle every institution of Zionist violence in the world.”

Founded in 2000 in response to the peace negotiations between the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority, Al-Awda’s stated goal is to advocate for the rights of Palestinian refugees. Its Points of Unity statement posits that racism and discrimination are “inherent in Zionist ideology.” The group has been an organizer of anti-Israel activism across the United States for over two decades, with chapters in New York, Ohio, Florida, Texas, Oregon and California.

Some active members of Al-Awda include extreme anti-Zionists Lamis Deek and Abbas Hamideh. Previous members of Al-Awda’s National Board include extreme anti-Zionists Charlotte Kates of Samidoun and Nerdeen Kiswani of Within Our Lifetime (WOL).
